ANDREA CALVARUSO

Andrea Calvaruso was born in Verbania and attended the Art High School of Lugano, where he developed his strong passion for visual arts and photography. He attended the Professional Biennial Photography Course at Istituto Italiano di Fotografia in Milan, and graduated in July 2018. He run some personal conceptual and authorial projects, most of which were realised with film cameras. One of them (Millennials Chronicles) was exhibited at Prix Mark Grosset of the photofestival in Vendome, France, and another (Hand-Made Faces) was chosen to be displyed in the photofestival in Lishui, China, to represent young Italian photographers in the East. Recently, his project “Sueden – Hymn of his past” was shortlisted in the open call “Coscienza – Conoscenza” organized by the 10×10 photofestival of Gonzaga. He currently works as photo assistant and freelance photographer and he is based between Pavia and Milan. He is still continuing his research in the authorial and art field to carry out personal projects and eventual commission by companies and magazines.
